Mr. Hitchings joined Vali Cooper International in July 2014 following his work with ARCADIS and CH2M HILL as program manager and 33 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers. With VCI Mr. Hitchings as Program Manager provides senior consulting services to a range of clients.
Prior to joining VCI was the program coordinator for work related to Hurricane Sandy rebuilding and Program Manager for a major engineering services contract to support the Corps after Katrina and oversaw the planning, design and construction management of many of the major components of the improved system with a total construction value over $3.6B.
Mr. Hitchings served in various roles with the Corps of Engineers concluding as a member of the Senior Executive Service assigned as the first Director of the post Katrina rebuilding and recovery in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Mr. Hitchings earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in water resources engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University. He is also a registered professional engineer and certified Program Manager.
